About the state of this forum

Post by marna »

Hi.

I feel like the threads have reached a point now where it contains so much content, that it’s actually harder to find quality content than it used to be years ago. As there are no subdivisions, it’s also impossible to finding something I like without having to click a thousand links. The threads are divided only by type of watch, not the type of body the actors have.

Furthermore, I’ve been wondering for a while wether the active posting members of this XXX-part of the forum are posting everything they find, or if they filter out things that themself wouldn’t get off to. Personally, I wouldn't post a scene if I didn't find that scene hot. (I guess I did once, but the "cum on watch" thread don’t have nearly as many posts as other threads, so I believed the chances of doing anyone a favor by posting it was higher there than the other threads). – The point is, if a user only posted links to scene that specific user enjoys, than following that user you would know what you were getting. If a user post everything they can find, following the user has no value other than "that user posts a lot of content".

Now, I’m not saying one is better than the other. I guess I just want to hear your thoughts, and have little discussion. Or hear if you have moved elsewhere.

I understand what your saying, but its a watch forum.. so I'm guessing the main point of interest is the watch itself rather than what type of body the actors or person has - I stand to be corrected though!

Furthermore, I’ve been wondering for a while wether the active posting members of this XXX-part of the forum are posting everything they find, or if they filter out things that themself wouldn’t get off to. I presume its all filtered. People will only search what they find of interest, and maybe post that here if they feel like it, whils't many other ones would remain in their private collection. Or it could be some particular type of interest is just very hard to find so there wouldn't be as many posts on it (like the 'cum on watch' ones). How often would you see in an actual porn video that the cum splats or dribbles on the girls watch? Barely. On the flip side, you can get a cam girl to do pretty much whatever you wanted, if you were willing to pay for a private - then again, would you share that vid which you personally paid for? Probably not, unless someones willing to pay for it which not many are.

On another note, when this forum was in its early stages, there were a lot of regular posters, myself included, based on what we found of interest according to our personal preferences. As years have gone by, people have left and regular posters have become only a handful. However, look how many member's this forum has and you can see how many freeloaders there are. Every forum has this issue. Another issue is time, it takes a long while to troll through sites and go through previews or each clip to see what has what in it - I guess many just don't have that time anymore.

As for moving on, I feel many pretty much have and thats myself included. I don't visit this forum much anymore as I used to. I frequent camsites and have my fav's on there, who I do privates with on demand to get my 'fix'. I just can't be bothered to troll through many sites anymore. Maybe they have girlfiends or wives that share it with them now, so no need to come on the site anymore. It's a whole host of reasons, but that would explain why many threads have just become dead, and only very few are still growing.

"About the state of this forum"...Are you particularly referring to the XXX section or the entire forum Itself?

When I stumbled across it, it was a welcome sign that I wasn't alone in what I first thought was quite a weird fetish. I found it interesting to hear about others experiences, and journeys in their attraction to watches, but also a great resource in particular for XXX content to enjoy.

When it comes to posting, I post what I find that I enjoy because I am sure that others will too. I would imagine others operate like that too. Why would I be looking for say big steel action when I have no interest in it? I thought that's how forums operated....people post what they like for others to see if they like it too. I have tried enjoying a lady where a big steel, but it just doesn't work so give me a petite small leather any day.

I have found myself gravitating more to Instagram these days to get my small leather and Cartier fixes...I have become quite good at finding what I like there, but even though I may visit this forum less than before, I'll always come back to it to post XXX content I find on my trips to porn sites.

I do agree that some categories on the forum are quite vague, and I can never seem to get in now via my preferred Firefox browser, however I am just grateful its here in the first place.

Honestly I'm not sure a forum really ever made sense for curating this sort of content. As with any type of content, in large volumes a hierarchical sorting system (folders or threads or topics or whatever) breaks down quickly, only a semantic tagging system (eg, this video has A brand, B model, C actress, D actions, E body type, etc) can scale to support that. And even to the extent that a hierarchy works as a sorting method, finding a particular video purely from the URL (since screenshots or descriptions are rarely posted) is basically impossible, gotta check each one individually. Then theres the issue that all of this content is hosted externally, and many links here are either dead or duplicates. All of these are tough technical issues that this forum software is not suited to solve, but for which any mainstream porn site that allows user-submitted content with arbitrary tags already has solved.

I think it'd be more useful to curate lists of actresses known to wear watches, especially those willing to engage with our little niche, rather than specific pieces of content. Thats both a much more manageable and more useful long-term set of data.

What forums are good for is discussion, but tbh theres not a huge amount to discuss here.

I was mainly referring to the XXX section, as I don’t frequent the others as much. Feel free to discuss the forum as a whole, though.

You are making some very good points. Some kind of modernized tag system would be most welcome, or a subsection where actors could have their own threads would be most welcome... However, maybe this forum isn’t the right place for doing that. It would be a lot of work, and I guess as more and more porn sites are starting to use "wristwatch" as it’s own tag, It might not be necessary in the future.

Maybe I’m just being nostalgic. I've been a member for many years. When I discovered the site, I was happy to know I wasn’t the only one, and getting a XXX-section was a blessing. Now I’m spoiled. As there is so much content, that I’m becoming picky...

I wish there was a rule to post thumbnails of at least one shot from the clip one posts... And if there was a bot that deleted links that were dead.
